The Cobalt offers three Ecotec four-cylinder engines, inspired by their experience in racing, a proven automatic gearbox is available and two versions of their stick gearboxes.

The 2.2-liter Ecotec engine has an output estimated 140 hp and 204 Nm of torque. The combination of greater engine capacity and variable distribution technology, allows the Ecotec 2.4-liter, to offer one of the largest estimated torque, 231 Nm, that's a lot of push for a small economical used vehicle.

The engines of the 2.2 liter and 2.4 liter versions with (DOHC), have aluminum blocks and cylinder heads, valve lifters with rotary cam tracking, camshaft activated by chain, and so much more.
