Why Used Auto Parts in Arizona

Used auto parts are one of the fastest growing industries in the United States today. As the economy has grown weaker and people have seen their paychecks and savings shrink, they look for every way they can to save money. Well it turns out that saving money can equal savings for our environment as well.

Every year thousands of cars are taken off the road permanently for one reason or another. Some need repairs that are beyond the basic value of the car, others are damaged in wrecks and insurance companies have deemed them to costly to repair. Whatever the reason, each automobile that is removed from service winds up somewhere. Today that somewhere is likely to be an auto repair facility. Once the vehicle has been brought in, an assessment of the vehicle is made. At this point, some are actually repaired and resold for use. Others that are beyond this still have many parts on them that are in good working order. It is these parts that can save consumers thousands of dollars every year in costly vehicle and engine repairs.

Once the care has been dismantled and all the fluids are drained from the vehicle, technicians move on to the air conditioning system where the Freon must be recapture before the parts on the air conditioner can be dismantled. Recapture Freon is then recycled and resold, keeping it away from our delicate ozone layer. Other fluids are also removed at this. Any fuel left in the automobile is removed and used in other vehicles around the facility. Motor oil can be recycled and used for heating oil.

The parts that are removed for resale are the ones that really help consumers save on auto repair. Because recycled parts keep down costs of repairs they also keep down insurance costs, another form of savings for the consumer. Insurance companies used to authorize repairs for vehicles utilizing the most inexpensive parts available. These were primarily aftermarket parts that were cheaper and made with far less quality than OEM parts used by the original car manufacturer. This practice came to halt however when an insurance company was sued for authorizing the use of these cheap aftermarket parts. After that successful lawsuit, insurance companies have just two choices: use new parts, which are exorbitantly expensive or use salvage auto parts, which are made specifically for the vehicle by the manufacturer who produced the vehicle in the first place. Obviously, for both insurance companies and individuals alike – used parts represent a much more financially advantageous choice.

There are times when a used part is not the wisest choice. For instance used airbags are not a wise idea for obvious reasons, however the majority of used parts available are just fine to use. Salvage auto parts are astoundingly less expensive than one would cost new, up to 75% less in many cases.

When faced with so many rising costs today, the use of quality used parts for vehicle repair should never be overlooked.
