New Jersey Toyota Prius steals WhatGreenCar's Car of the Year Award
It’s been a great year for the environment. Amidst a faulty economy, a quickly bankrupt American car industry, and new government incentives that promote higher fuel economy among drivers, a new calling is echoing through the global automotive industry for “green” driving. As most drivers know, the new push will help reduce the automotive industry’s footprint on the environment, cut consumer driving costs associated with gas, and begin the decline of petroleum’s grasp on the country.
New Jersey Toyota Prius dealers are one of the places locally where you can do your part for the environment. Toyota’s Prius has been making headlines since it was launched a few years ago as one of the first contenders in the title fight for fuel efficiency. To this day, the Prius still reigns supreme, with a mileage average above 40 miles per gallon. And the media buzz hasn’t quieted; in fact, the 2010 Prius was just named Car of the Year by WhatGreenCar, an authority on green driving. Piled on other green accolades, this one secures the Prius as the vehicle 2010 NJ Toyota drivers should want to drive.
NJ used cars dealers might have some spectacular older models of the Prius, but none of them compares to this year’s Prius model. The third-generation model leverages a lighter and more compact power-train to reach 51 miles per gallon in the city and 48 miles per gallon on the highway. New Jersey Toyota Prius drivers are blown away by these numbers, which are currently industry bests.
In this year’s WhatGreenCar competition, the Prius matched up against some of the toughest vehicles in the industry, but the 1.8-liter four-cylinder continuous variable transmission inside the 2010 Toyota Prius held out for the victory. The competition? Cars like the Honda Insight hybrid, Smart fortwo gasoline, Ford Fusion hybrid, Honda Civic CNG, Lexus 250h hybrid, MINI Cooper gasoline, Nissan Altima hybrid, Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute hybrid.
According to Dr Ben Lane, Managing Editor of WhatGreenCar, "While we were impressed by the latest technology on all ten models on the short-list, we were unanimous in our acclaim for the 2010 Prius. In addition to the new model's outstanding environmental rating, we particularly like the way the car seamlessly integrates green features as part of its design. This encourages a smooth stress-free driving style, improves fuel economy and drives down emissions. If Apple made a car, it would probably be the 2010 Prius."
In the end, the Prius was able to score a 30 on the WGC 100-point grading scale (the lower, the better). Outstanding fuel efficiency, great style, solid dependability and overall high performance driving are some of the key benefits associated with the Prius. Among 2010 NJ Toyota models, the Prius is surely king. Stop by your new and used cars NJ dealership today to give this car a test-spin. And remember: when you do your part for the environment, you do your part for your pocketbook. So make sure your ride is a fuel efficient one.

Toyota Camry Solara $65.33 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Toyota Camry Solara, also more commonly known as the Toyota Solara, is a midsize coupe/convertible designed and engineered by Toyota. Created to appeal to a demographic of slightly more sportminded drivers than those who prefer the Toyota Camry sedan, the Camry Solara aspires to blend sporty looks and style with spacious practicality. The frontwheel drive Camry Solara is supposed to have a more sporty image than the base Camry. However, all models of the Camry Solara only feature the Solara portion of the name on exterior emblems, and the Camry portion of the name is rarely used when referring to the car in general. 2010 Toyota Vehicle Recalls $62.13 Two separate but related recalls of automobiles by Toyota Motor Company occurred at the end of 2009 and start of 2010. Toyota initiated the recalls, with the assistance of the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, after several vehicles experienced unintended acceleration. The first recall, on November 2, 2009, was to correct a possible incursion of an incorrect or outofplace front drivers side floor mat into the foot pedal well, which can cause pedal entrapment. The second recall, on January 21, 2010, was begun after some crashes were shown not to have been caused by floor mat incursion. This latter defect was identified as a possible mechanical sticking of the accelerator pedal causing unintended acceleration, referred to as Sticking Accelerator Pedal by Toyota. The original action was initiated by Toyota in their Defect Information Report, dated October 5, 2009, amended January 27, 2010. Certain related Lexus and Pontiac models were also affected. As of January 28, 2010, Toyota had announced recalls of approximately 5.2 million vehicles for the pedal entrapment/floor mat problem, and an additional 2.3 million vehicles for the accelerator pedal problem. In this shift, organizations need to recognize the importance of environment in any aspect of innovation. This book aims to deduce the drivers of ecoinnovation from the overview of existing literature and empirical study to provide an understanding of the organization aiming towards ecoinnovation. This research is limited to the investigation of drivers of ecoinnovation in one single organization i.e. Tekniska Verken, Link ping, Sweden. Conceptual model of drivers of ecoinnovation is created from previous research and verified through empirical study. The model of this research is to outline the three categories of drivers within the limit and scope of this analysis. Antisocial Drivers $39.95 This book addresses three questions: why are there so many antisocial drivers who are inconsiderate, selfish, rude, and frequently drive in an offensive manner that disregards the rights of other drivers to be treated courteously and safely; (2) how can antisocial drivers be persuaded to become prosocial drivers who drive carefully with due consideration for the well-being of others; and (3) how can novice drivers be prevented from acquiring antisocial driving habits? The authors answer these questions by integrating, for the very first time, three large bodies of research: traffic research that has identified personal factors associated with driving violations and risky or careless driving; psychological research that has identified personal factors associated with a variety of types of antisocial behavior; and criminological research that has identified personal factors that are the targets of programs that effectively reduce antisocial behavior. Each body of research points to the same factors. Rehabilitation programs for antisocial individuals have achieved success by applying techniques which foster the development of the same cognitive skills, emotional skills, social skills, problem-solving skills, and values that are associated with antisocial driving. Effective programs include techniques that improve antisocial individuals’ impulse control, develop their pro- blem-solving skills, lead them to consider the consequences of their behavior, increase their ability to comprehend other people’s thoughts and feelings, enable them to acquire emotional control, and lead them to understand and appreciate social rules and obligations. The authors describe a 35-year research project that led to the development of a program that teaches cognitive/emotional skills and values that are required for prosocial competence and are antagonistic to antisocial behavior. The program has successfully taught such skills and values in fourteen countries to more than forty thousand of the most antisocial individuals. This book will be an excellent resource for lawmakers, driving instructors, probation officers, judges, enforcement officers in the field of traffic control, academics, and the general motoring public. |

Republic of Drivers $19 Rising gas prices, sprawl and congestion, global warming, even obesity—driving is a factor in many of the most contentious issues of our time. So how did we get here? How did automobile use become so vital to the identity of Americans? Republic of Drivers looks back at the period between 1895 and 1961—from the founding of the first automobile factory in America to the creation of the Interstate Highway System—to find out how driving evolved into a crucial symbol of freedom and agency.             Cotten Seiler combs through a vast number of historical, social scientific, philosophical, and literary sources to illustrate the importance of driving to modern American conceptions of the self and the social and political order. He finds that as the figure of the driver blurred into the figure of the citizen, automobility became a powerful resource for women, African Americans, and others seeking entry into the public sphere. And yet, he argues, the individualistic but anonymous act of driving has also monopolized our thinking about freedom and democracy, discouraging the crafting of a more sustainable way of life. As our fantasies of the open road turn into fears of a looming energy crisis, Seiler shows us just how we ended up a republic of drivers—and where we might be headed. |

Designated Drivers $29.95 An in-depth look at the Chinese car industry that sheds new light on the delicate nature of China's planned economy China's unprecedented growth over the last three decades, along with the recent financial crisis in the West, has raised questions about the superiority of state-led capitalism. In Designated Drivers: How China Plans to Dominate the Global Auto Industry , G.E. Anderson, a specialist in finance and Chinese political economics, uses the auto industry to examine how China's industrial planning works, and explores whether state involvement in the economy really is a winning formula for sustainable growth. Bringing to light the strengths and weaknesses that define the Chinese economy, Anderson finds that in some ways the government has become its own worst enemy, unable to choose between industrial competitiveness and social stability. While the economy is booming now, evidence suggests that long-term success is far from assured. Tracing the evolution of the post-Mao auto industry through thirteen case studies, Designated Drivers raises the difficult questions about the future of China that few people have dared to ask. Offers a unique insight into the Chinese economy through the lens of the auto industry Explores how successful the central government has been in spurring economic growth and the long-terms costs of intervention Uses case studies to illustrate China's explosive growth over the last three decades A painstakingly researched analysis of the Chinese automobile industry, Designated Drivers explains the risks and rewards inherent in doing business in China that anyone interested in, or already working there need to understand. |
