Ford Focus Electric To Be Launched By 2012
Ford Focus will have an environment friendly version and is soon going to appear in the automobile world. The new electric car that would be released by car manufacturing giant Ford will make its first appearance at the Detroit Auto Show 2011. Ford Motor is going to conduct the assembly of the eco-friendly car in its Wayne unit in Michigan. This is the same plant where the manufacturing of Ford Focus petrol version is being carried out. The industry sources are claiming that the car will be powered by better version of lithium ion batteries than that being used in Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt.
This is going to be the major reason behind the better performance of this upcoming model as against its competitors in the market. The battery that is employed in all the exclusive Ford Focus will take just half the time in full charging as compared to its competitors in the market that include the Nissan Leaf and Chevrolet Volt. The overall performance of the battery is going to be far better than the mentioned models and so it will bring a tough competition to them. The model from Ford Motors' stable will not just focus on battery efficiency but it will also consider other necessary features that are required to make the car stand out in the overall convenience and performance. The car will also be given features like the MyFord Touch, MyFord Mobile which will help connect the application for the driver's gadgets. The full charge in Ford Focus will also be achieved in less than four hours. The car is capable of gearing up to a top speed of 84 mph.
The car will also be loaded with powerful 17 inch alloys and will also be capable of hands free drive. Ford focus will come with great safety features which are going to assure the high security to all passengers. It is going to bear 6 airbags for the complete safety of all passengers. Sony music system will also give the car good entertainment qoutient. This eco-friendly car will also come with electronic traction control system, voice guided navigation, sirius satellite radio and keyless start/stop engine. Ford used the 2011 International Consumer Electronic Show in Vegas in unveiling the final product version of the Focus Electric that is set to be launched in 19 markets in the later part of 2011. the Focus Electric will join a growing group of consumer-available plug-in passenger vehicles that include the already on-sale 2011 Nissan LEAF and Chevy Volt.

Chevrolet (Paperback) $31.66 The Chevrolet car and truck business traces its roots back to Michigan`s lumber industry in the middle of the 19th century. Lumber mills gave way to carriage and wagon manufacturing and the claim, before motorcars burst on the scene, that Flint was the "vehicle capital of the world." This is the story of how those wagon makers quickly converted to producing automobiles, overtaking automotive pioneer and archrival Ford in sales, and building the Chevrolet brand into the global powerhouse entity it is today. This volume traces the first half (1911-1960) of Chevrolet`s 100-year history in photographic detail and provides an unparalleled spotter guide for long-forgotten (or never-known) Chevrolet cars and trucks. |

Chevrolet Aerovette $116.3 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Chevrolet Aerovette is a concept car created by the Chevrolet division of General Motors, beginning life as Experimental Project 882 (XP882). It has a midengine configuration using a transverse mounting of its V8 engine. Zora Arkus Duntovs engineers originally built two XP882s during 1969, but John DeLorean, Chevrolets general manager, canceled the program because it was impractical and costly. But when Ford announced plans to sell the DeTomaso Pantera through LincolnMercury dealers, DeLorean ordered one XP882 cleaned up for display at the 1970 New York Auto Show. In 1972, DeLorean authorized further work on the XP882 chassis and gave it a new project code, XP895. A nearidentical body in aluminum alloy that resembled the XP895 was constructed, and became the Reynolds Aluminum Car. Two of the Chevrolet Vega 2rotor engines were joined together as a 4rotor, 420 horsepower (310 kW) engine, which was used to power XP895. Chevrolet Corvair $172.06 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Chevrolet Corvair was an automobile produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors from 1959 to 1969, for the 19601969 model years. The Corvair was offered in a wide range of body styles, including fourdoor sedans, two door coupes, convertibles, and station wagons. It was also built as a compact van similar to the Volkswagen bus, with styles including a pickup, panel van, and a passenger van called the Greenbrier. The cargo floor was raised above the rear engine, and some pickups featured an unusual side loading ramp. The Corvair like the Ford Falcon, Studebaker Lark, Nash Rambler, and the Plymouth Valiant was one of the first of a new compact class. These were offered in response to the small, sporty and fuelefficient automobiles being imported from Europe by Volkswagen, Renault, and others. The Corvair stood out with engineering significantly different from other American offerings. The Corvair was part of GMs innovative Ybody ( Z Body from 1965on) line of cars, but this was by far the most unusual, due to the location and design of its engine. Ford Pinto $114.71 The Ford Pinto was Ford Motor Companys first domestic North American subcompact automobile marketed beginning on September 11, 1970. It competed with the AMC Gremlin and Chevrolet Vega, along with imports from makes such as Volkwagen, Datsun and Toyota. The Pinto was popular in sales, with 100,000 units delivered by January 1971, and was also offered as wagon and Runabout hatchback. Its reputation suffered over time, especially from a controversy surrounding the safety of its gas tank. Its 10 year production run outlasted the Vega through the 1980 model year, when 68,179 were built. It and the smaller Ford Fiesta were replaced by the front wheel drive Ford Escort. The rebadged LincolnMercury version, the Mercury Bobcat debuted in Canada in 1974, and subsequently in the U.S. in 1975. Ford Galaxie $106.74 The Ford Galaxie was a fullsize car built in the United States by the Ford Motor Company for model years 1959 through 1974. The name was used for the top models in Fords fullsize range from 1959 until 1961. In 1962, all fullsize Fords wore the Galaxie badge, with 500 and 500/XL denoting the higher series. 1965 saw the introduction of the Galaxie 500/LTD, followed by Galaxie 500 7Litre in 1966. The Galaxie 500 part was dropped from the LTD in 1966, and from the XL in 1967, however the basic series structuring levels were maintained. The regular Galaxie 500 continued below the LTD as Fords midlevel fullsize model from 1965 until its demise at the end of the 1974 model year. The Galaxie was the high volume counterpart to the Chevrolet Impala. Some Galaxies were highperformance, racing specification machines, a larger forebear to the muscle car era. Others were plain family sedans. A version of the car was also produced in Brazil under the names Galaxie 500, LTD and Landau from 1967 to 1983. The similarly named Ford Galaxy is a large car/minivan available in the European market. The vehicles name is taken from the original Ford Galaxie. This Is How It Starts $10.99 Meet Taylor Mark: a recent college graduate who has moved to Washington, D.C., to work for John Grayson, the less-than-brilliant congressman from his home district in southern California. Inadequately prepared for life among D.C.'s movers and shakers, Taylor quickly learns that Washington is a city where deals are made behind closed doors. And there's no one better to teach him -- and Grayson -- that lesson than Chase Latham, Taylor's former college roommate and the son of a powerful lobbyist. To Chase, the Beltway's bars, restaurants, town houses, and government offices are one big, debauched playground -- a land of milk and honey where secrets are currency, the sex is bipartisan, and rules and boundaries are obsolete. It's a place where, as the stakes are raised, the line between right and wrong becomes blurred and friends' loyalties are nothing more than fragments of the past. This Is How It Starts is an incisively written debut novel about how far one postcollegiate idealist will go to be an insider in a town that is unyielding in what it will take from a person in exchange for granting him a margin of knowledge and power. |
