As most of us know that Hindustan Motors is the first Indian Car Company to start which began its production in India in 1942. Since then there was no looking back and the company emerged as a vast company gaining success with kings of yesteryears like muscular Ambassador, the elegant Contessa. Later the car manufacturer entered into an agreement with the Mitsubishi of Japan. The venture between the Japanese auto giant Mitsubishi Motors and Hindustan Motors plays a greater role in the marketing and distribution of all its passenger cars in India.
Mitsubishi had launched Montero in the Indian car market four years and till date it had sold 600 units. For the year 2009, all new Montero arrived in India as a completely built unit with the price tag of Rs.41.94 Lakh.
Just like the old Montero, the 2009 Montero too sports 162 bhp, 3.2-litre 16-valve CRDi Double Overhead Camshaft (DOHC) Intercooled Turbocharged DI-D engine. It also offers an option of automatic and manual transmission. It clocks 150 kmph in just 31 seconds and the maximum that the speedometer can hit is 170 kmph.
The handling is smooth and easy and the company offers the present-day and fully featured version of the international model Mitsubishi Montero which is one of the most appreciated and preferred vehicles in its class.
The Montero is well suspended to absorb anything that comes across. The exterior styling is eye-catchy. Its aggressive look, masculine features of the car makes you enjoy the drive.
The front fascia is adorned with the chrome accented grille and new stylish headlamps It also gets the all new 17-inch alloy wheels which enhances its sportier appeal. The spacious interior is not behind either and wrapped in luxury. Premium quality beige & black leather upholstery, impressive centre console adds beauty to the SUV. Multi information display, Rockford acoustic design premium sound system with 860 watt, 12 speakers, 5.1 channel theatre surround, and dash 6 CD changer add more fun to driving this SUV. Compared to its older version, the 2009 Montero also gets a cruise control.
All the seats are bucket type; the front seats have four-way power adjusters and are spacious. All the seats have unique folding options; the third row seats are removable, while the second row seats can be folded forward to create more cargo space. The first and second rows can be opened flat for a nice power nap on your journey. This expensive car is worth the money for those who love to go off-road on weekends.
Safety is enhanced with Dual SRS airbags, Front Side airbags and 2 Curtain Airbags, Engine Immobilizer, 3-Point ELR seat belts with Pre tensioners, ABS with EBD, Front disc brakes with 4-pot calipers.
