Civil Defense Siren $92.4 A civil defense siren (also referred to as an air raid siren, tornado siren, tsunami siren, or other outdoor warning siren and also rarely referred to as the doomsday siren) is a mechanical or electronic device (modernday sirens are electricallypowered) for generating sound to provide warning of approaching danger and sometimes to indicate when the danger has passed. In some areas in the United States, civil defense sirens may sound in the late morning on a regular basis.
