The 2011 Lexus LFA is something completely different from previous Lexus models. In fact, so different that a new process was developed to manufacture the carbon fiber body of this car. A V10 engine with 552 horsepower keeps it on par with what Lexus lovers expect. The only drawback is that Lexus will only make a handful of this model. But with a price tag of $375,000 that may not be a problem. Oh yeah, and driver can only lease this model. Go figure.
Let's be honest. This is a true luxury car, made for a very limited group of buyers. But those few buyers will certainly be grateful for the chance to drive such an impressive model and they won't have to worry about resale value.
For the rest of us Lexus will roll out the 2011 Lexus CT 200h early next year. It's a hybrid hatchback that comes with a 1.8 liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder hybrid engine (from the Toyota Prius, of course) and it will provide excellent mileage numbers. There will also be a continuously variable transmission. It also won't skimp on luxury features, which Lexus buyers expect. The CT 200h will have a very reasonable starting price of $28,800.
Boston used Lexus LS customer may want to look into the CT 200h if they have been waiting to purchase a hybrid car. This model throws in so much luxury is almost seems that it can't be economical. But it definitely delivers on both planes.
Customers who need more space than the hatchback CT 200h can provide and whose price point does not extend to the Lexus LFA should visit their Boston Lexus dealership for all the models in between. Lexus has a model to fit every lifestyle and most every price range.
