New Chevrolet Products for General Motors India
General Motors, one of the world’s largest automaker and producer of OEM parts like Chevrolet oxygen sensor is not only experiencing high sales in China but also in India. It can be remembered that for a while GM India’s portfolio has been having large gap and what they feel that they need to have it filled. And they thought that small cars may help bring in some volumes. And now after a four months wait they still have not received any of the small cars they desire but they were given two smart superminis namely the Aveo U-VA and the Spark. Luckily, this is not the end for GM India but just the beginning.
The Chevrolet Optra sedan that is petrol powered will get GM-Daewoo Automotive Technologies’ (GM-DAT) newly developed 2,000cc TCDI diesel engine. Running on 1600 bar pressure, the four-cylinder common rail diesel will produce 120 bhp of peak power and an astounding 28.6 kgm of potent torque turning the wheels at 2,000 rpm which is much better than the current top of the range, the Skoda Laura.
And also for the first time since the Opel Astra 1.7 turbodiesel, GM India will offer an oil burner in sedan. The Optra has been declining in sales for over the past two years now and was given additional enhancement such as new headlamp, some grille treatment, and a new tail-lamp cluster. The interiors were likewise revised in the hope to make it more appealing to customers.
The new facelift will also enable the Optra to share a lot of parts with the SR-V hatchback but most importantly it will enable GM to finally create a strong contender to the Skoda Octavia that has been dominating the diesel sedan segment for more years than we can remember. The Optra diesel will be launched as early as the first week of June and will have a price tag ranging from Rs 9 to 10 lakh.
And that’s not all! Dueto the success of the SUVs in the Rs 15 to 20 lakh segment in India, Chevrolet will also fly in some of its newest mud-plugger that has been gaining street popularity in Europe. Powered by petrol as well as diesel engines, the good-looking Captiva if it makes it in India will be the only SUV in its segment to offer two different fueled powertrains.
The Captiva has a seating capacity of five to seven people. Its 2,400cc petrol and 2,000cc diesel engines have enough power to keep up with its competitors in this segment. The Captiva produces 141 bhp for petrol and 150 bhp for diesel. It can sprint from 0 to 100 kph in less than 12 seconds and can reach a top speed of 200 kph.
It will also feature the following---ABS, ESP, leather seats, a high-end audio system, 16-inch tires---overall it can be concluded that the Captiva is exactly what customers would want for their SUVs. Another advantage that the Captiva will have over its competitors is in terms of price since it is only around Rs 18 lakh, which is lower, compared to Honda’s CR-V with price at Rs 20 lakh. And with products with tag price that range from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 20 lakh it is expected that 2007 might prove to be a good year for General Motors India.

Parking Sensors $76.47 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Parking sensors are proximity sensors for road vehicles which can alert the driver to unseen obstacles during parking manoeuvres. The ultrasonic sensors are currently available in several brands of cars, with a variety of brand names such as Parktronic and Parking Aid. Some systems are also available as additional upgrade kits for later installation.Parking sensor systems use ultrasonic proximity detectors embedded in the front and/or rear bumpers, to measure the distances to nearby objects at low level. The sensors measure the time taken for each sound pulse to be reflected back to the receiver. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Intelligent Sensors $182 Sensors are the front end devices for information acquisition from the natural and/or artificial world. Higher performance of advanced sensing systems is achieved by using various types of machine intelligence. Intelligent sensors are smart devices with signal processing functions shared by distributed machine intelligence. Typical examples of intelligent sensors are the receptors and dedicated signal processing systems of the human sensory systems. The most important job of information processing in the sensory system is to extract necessary information from the receptors signals and transmit the useful information to the brain. This dedicated information processing is carried out in a distributed manner to reduce the work load of the brain. The processing also lightens the load of signal transmission through the neural network, the capacity of which is limited. Although the performance of the receptors in our human sensory system is not always ideal and is frequently inferior to that of man-made sensors, the total performance is usually far superior to those of our technical sensing systems. The weak points of human receptors are masked by the information processing. This processing makes our sensory system adaptable to the environment and optimizes system performance. The basic idea of this book, which contains new computing paradigms, is that the most advanced intelligent sensing system is the human sensory system. Section I reviews the technologies of intelligent sensors and discusses how they developed. Typical approaches for the realization of intelligent sensors emphasizing the architecture of intelligent sensing systems are also described. In section II, fundamental technologies for the fabrication of intelligent sensors and actuators are presented. Integration and micro-miniaturization techniques are emphasized. Section III presents advanced technologies approaching human sensory systems, these technologies are not directly aimed at practical applications, but introduce the readers to the development of engineering models of sensory systems. Technologies of integrated intelligent sensors, which will shortly be in use are introduced in section IV. In section V, examples are given of intelligent sensing systems which are used in industrial installations. Hardware for machine intelligence is not integrated at present, but can soon be implemented in the monolithic integrated structure. Without this machine intelligence, new functions, for example, self diagnosis or defects identification, cannot be realized. This section also demonstrates the potential of intelligent sensors in industry. Section VI introduces two interesting topics which are closely related to intelligent sensing systems. The first one is multisensor fusion. It is expected to be one of the fundamental and powerful technologies for realizing an advanced intelligent sensing systems. The second is visualizing technology of the sensed states for easy comprehension of the |

Caractere Audi Q7 Front Bumper - For vehicles with parking sensors $1184 Data: For cars with original fog lamps Material: PUR Rim Delivery time: approx. 2 weeks Scope of Delivery: Front bumper and installation material Caractre Automobile is a Belgian company whose main activity is the design and marketing of body styling equipment for vehicles of marques belonging to the VAG group. Alain Hurard, the founder of the company and a designer by training, has been designing, developing and marketing the products in the Caractre range with the aid of his dynamic team since 1992. Caractre products are manufactured in PU RIM from the outset in Germany to ISO 9000, approved by the German TUV in PU RIM. This latter method of manufacture brings a number of advantages, for instance, a very high finish of injection-moulded products, and the rapidity of the rate of production. In addition, the flexibility of the material makes mounting easy, and means that our products are compatible with the new 2005 European standards on pedestrian safety. Once in the production workshops, the body parts are inspected and then packaged (with screws and bolts, grilles, adhesive, and mountings) for greater ease of mounting, and then carefully packed for trouble-free shipping. All of our parts come guaranteed against faulty manufacture. Research and Development This was the launch of our Research and development for perfecting a product for a model (and not a universal-type product) department, which entails not only a modified design but also quality and ease of mounting of the products on the vehicle. This internal department, consisting of two designers, responds as soon as any new model is announced (including the rarest of models), and works on the development of body styling for it as soon as it is released, although the aim is not to be the first on the market, but rather the best, by combining design and quality. The staffs are very meticulous concerning the quality of our products. After fifteen years spent in the sector, and more importantly, in restyling vehicles of the Audi, VW and Porsche marques (48 models designed so far), the staff members have acquired specialist knowledge not only of the vehicles they work on, but also of the philosophies of the marques themselves. |
