Pugi Mazda welcomes the Mazda 2 line to the Mazda family

If you haven't been paying attention to the automotive market lately, you wouldn't know that the small car market is growing like wildfire. Pugi Mazda dealers will tell you that the target audience for many of its cars has landed within the small car segment, and the shifting paradigm of the industry is affecting manufacturers across all spectrums of the auto industry. In order to satisfy that need, Mazda has recently announced the details of its brand new Mazda 2 lineup, which will act as a direct contender to the Honda Fit and the rest of the top sellers in the segment. In fact, Downers Grove Mazda dealers are confident that the Mazda 2 will sit atop the pile.

According to the official press release on the Mazda 2, "MAZDA2 is the latest in a line of stylish, insightful and hugely fun-to-drive small cars from Mazda, and will bring an all-new level of refinement to the segment, as MAZDA3 did for the compact C-Car market. MAZDA2 is a car that only the engineers at Mazda could have created. A big draw on the new Mazda 2 is that it accomplishes a unique look while still managing to appear attractive. It won't go on sale until July, but Pugi Mazda dealers are pretty excited to feature the pretty vehicle on showroom floors. While the Mazda 2 first debuted at the 2007 Geneva Auto Show, the automaker needed time to perfect it. Also, a lot of manufacturers have been waiting until the U.S. market ripened for the small car before actually launching a line of them. Lucky for us, we won't have to deal with the 1.3-liter inline fours that come standard with the European models. Instead, the U.S. Mazda 2 will feature the more powerful 1.5-liter four cylinder, perfect for Downers Grove Mazda locations to pedal to eager drivers.

The acceleration of the new Mazda 2 is expected to be pretty intense, and the car actually weighs in a couple hundred pounds lighter than its top competitor, the Fit. For Pugi Mazda dealers, this helps exemplify the spectacular mileage ratings, with the Mazda 2 getting a solid 28 miles per gallon in city driving and 35 miles per gallon on the highway. Stunningly enough, the Mazda 2 starts lower than $15,000, a number that Downers Grove Mazda dealers say doesn't go much higher with all the trimmings added on. Regardless, the Mazda 2 can come with all the trimmings, including all the latest cutting edge technology you can imagine for the cabin and the rest of the bells and whistles. Expect the Mazda 2 to catch on in a big way as the U.S. driving market continues to shift towards the small car driving experience.
