The All-New 2010 Mazda 6 - the Driver's Experience

Redesigned for 2010, the Mazda 6 comes in four trim levels: GS I4, GT I4, GS V6, and GT V6. GS trims are more frugal than their lavish GT counterparts. The bottom rung of features and options includes A/C, manually height-adjustable driver seat, tilt-telescoping steering wheel, full power accessories, and a six-speaker CD/MP3/auxiliary audio jack-equipped stereo system. Scampering a few steps up the ladder gets amenities like cruise control, keyless entry and leather-wrapped knick-knacks. Pure Power
The Mazda 6 packs one of two power plants: a 2.5-liter, 170-hp inline four-cylinder thrusting out 167 lb-feet of torque, or a 3.7-liter, 272-hp V6 with a whopping 269 lb-feet of torque. Manual and automatic six-speed transmissions are both available, and a five-speed Sport Mode automatic gear box is optional.
Dynamic Driving
Despite its gains in cargo space and cabin size, the Mazda 6 refuses to compromise its athleticism - the V6 streaks from 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Canadian Driver ranks the Mazda 6's handling and performance near the top of its class.
Safety First
Mazda prides itself on protecting customers during accidents. Active systems include the anti-lock brake system, Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Traction Control. Passive systems include airbags, reinforced chassis and front-end crash management. As such, the 2010 Mazda 6 received a perfect ballot from the U.S. NHTSA.
Fuel Efficiency
